WENDY DUVAL, HEAD OF SCHOOL, took on this role because she knew Classical Christian education was the best choice for her children. Prior to GCA, Wendy held high-level positions in marketing at American Heart Association, Fleet Trust and Investment Services, and Waste Management. Wendy’s heart for service called her to leadership roles with MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), American Cancer Society and Girl Scouts of Gulf Coast Florida, as well as various ministries within her church. Wendy has been married to Scott for 15 years. They have 2 daughters, Ashley and Brooke, both of whom attend GCA. In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
AMY MAURIELLO, DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION, has worked in education as a teacher and administrator for almost 20 years. Amy grew up in Pennsylvania where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education and worked as a corporate trainer for a software company. After moving to Florida in 2001, Amy became the Director of a local early learning center before returning to teaching for the Lee County School District and receiving her Master’s Degree in Education Leadership. Amy has been married to her husband Anthony for 23 years and has 3 children, Amelia, Alec and Andrew. Amy attends Turning Point Church in Bonita Springs where she volunteers with the youth group, worship team and hospitality team.
EMILY LOVEALL, ADMISSIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA DIRECTOR, brings her experience as a fifth grade teacher at a Christian school in Tampa and Director of Admissions at Covenant Theological Seminary to GCA. Emily has been married to her high school sweetheart, Matt for 12 years. They have 3 children, Andrew, Molly and Abigail, plus one on the way. Two of her three children will attend GCA this year. Emily serves in several areas at Oak River Church, where her husband is the pastor, where together, they lead a weekly small group.
ESTEE HENTGES, ADMINISTRATIVE & INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE, majored in Elementary Education at Southeastern University and completed her internship on Saipan, part of the Marianna Islands. Estee had several years of experience at Villas Elementary and Bonita Springs Elementary before joining the team at GCA. Estee met her husband playing Ultimate Frisbee. They have two young children. Lucas attends GCA and Sarianna will be in pre-k at Bonita Springs Academy at New Life Church. The family loves spending time together, especially at the beach.
ASHLEY PERRY, TEACHER, has a heart for building children as both academic scholars and disciples of Christ. Ashley earned a Masters degree in Education Leadership at Michigan University, earning K-12 Principal certification. Ashley has taught at both the elementary and secondary levels. Ashley attends Fort Myers Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she is an assistant teacher with the teen program. Ashley’s hobbies include camping with her husband, playing with their dog, Brutus, reading history and theology texts, and gardening.
NANCY HOLLOWAY, TEACHER, has 29 years of experience in public and private elementary education, including a school that follows the Christian, classical, hybrid model similar to the one at Grace Classical Academy. Nancy’s desire is to use God’s truth to make children want to passionately learn about His world. Nancy’s youngest daughter is still home while her older three live in Ft. Myers. Nancy attends Next Level Church, where she volunteers with the children’s ministry.
KATHY HARTLEY, TEACHER, has taught for over 26 years as both a preschool and kindergarten teacher. Kathy has a degree from Ball State University and has furthered her education through classes at Edison College and FGCU. Kathy has extensive experience in curriculum development, managing after school activities, and training faculty members. Kathy is driven by the desire to teach, guide and encourage students to their highest potential. Kathy has lived in Bonita Springs for 30 years and loves spending time on the beach. Kathy was married for almost 25 years before being widowed. Kathy has two adult daughters and two grandbabies, Dawson and Dakota. She serves in the children’s ministry and is part of a weekly small group.
AMBER SMOOT, TEACHER, is excited to join the GCA family for her second year of teaching. Amber has a Bachelor’s Degree in History and loves to share God’s story with others. She has a heart for God’s truth, missions, and discipleship, and can’t wait to teach her students how to live that out practically. Amber attends Summit Church, where she has served in the children’s, middle/high school ministry, and the college ministry at one time or another. She currently is part of the leadership team for the Recovery ministry, attends a weekly small group, and participates in Young Professional gatherings throughout the month. Amber enjoys baking, playing volleyball and having game nights at her house.
